Hassan Salem, my father, founded Bashayer back in 1973 and devoted his entire life to nurturing it. His last moments were spent in his shop, surrounded by the legacy he leaves behind today.

Bashayer was celebrated for its authentic Egyptian designs and handmade crafts ranging from Kilim, to furniture, to pottery and just about everything home decor. Bashayer's humble beginnings grew into a global presence, reaching countries like France and the UAE.

My lovely father, Hassan Salem, left us in 2016 (God rest his soul) and my brother and I inherited a warehouse filled with Authentic Egyptian handmade gems.

And now 7 years later, I have decided to give it life again. This was a hard decision as each piece feels more sentimental than the one before, but I believe it’s now time for our pieces to find new homes.

These are limited pieces as we will no longer be manufacturing or producing any more of these designs. Some have duplicates and some are one-of-a-kind.

I’ve decided to launch with our handmade Kilim pieces and will soon expand to our other products. We hope you appreciate our products for all that they are and the value they carry. Thank you for helping my father’s name live on.

And just like that, Bashayer is back!
